Interasia Celebrates Naming Ceremonies and Delivery of First Newbuild Vessel at JMU Ariake Shipyard
10/4/2024
October 3, 2024 - Japan
Interasia is delighted to announce the successful naming ceremonies of our first newbuild vessels,
Interasia Transform and Interasia Transcend, held at Japan Marine United Corporation’s (JMU)
Ariake Shipyard. In a significant moment for our company, we also accepted delivery of Interasia Transform,
the first in a series of six 3,055 TEU vessels. Following the ceremony, Interasia Transform departed the shipyard
and will soon be integrated into our NS3 service, further expanding our capacity to meet growing demand across Asia.
The naming ceremony sponsors were Miho Nabeyama, sponsor of Interasia Transform, and Espy Chan, sponsor of Interasia Transcend.
Both have been integral members of the Interasia family, with Miho Nabeyama serving the company for over 28 years and Espy Chan
contributing more than 30 years of dedicated service. Their participation in these ceremonies was a heartfelt recognition of their
significant contributions.
This marks a historic achievement for Interasia, as it is our first newbuild vessel delivery in the company’s long history.
It also provides an opportunity to reflect on the collective efforts of our team, now nearing 650 members, who have
made this moment possible.
Interasia is scheduled to take delivery of a total of six JMU-built 3,055 TEU vessels by mid-2025, which will bring our owned fleet to 21 ships.
This expansion will enhance our trading capacity and further extend our market reach across key regions. We are immensely proud of what
we have accomplished together and look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead for Interasia.
