Import of scrap and waste to TH prohibited

Dear Valued Customers,
We would like to have your attention on an update from the Thai Customs Department regarding the ban on HS-CODE PLASTICS AND ARTICLES THEREOF (3915: Waste, recycling materials, parings, and scrap of plastics), which will take effect from January 1, 2025. The Thai Customs will detain any affected cargo and require the responsible parties to take appropriate action to resolve the situation.
From now on, if any shipments are found to contain items prohibited under this regulation, a penalty of USD 30,000 per unit will be imposed. Additionally, all other related charges for the clearance of the cargo, until the empty container is returned to Interasia, will be the responsibility of the shipper.
