Interasia Signs Newbuilding Contract for 6+2 2,900 TEU Container Vessels

Interasia is pleased to announce that it has signed a shipbuilding contract with Jiangsu YangZiJiang Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd. (YZJ)
for six new 2,900 TEU container vessels, with an option for two additional vessels.
The signing ceremony took place at YZJ’s main office on 14 August 2025, with Mr. Brendan Williams, Special Assistant to the Executive Vice President of Interasia,
and Mr. Ji Hongfei, Vice General Manager of YZJ, signing the contract on behalf of the two parties.
Key representatives from YZJ, shipbrokers, and Interasia attended the ceremony, extending their congratulations and expressing confidence in the success of this
new partnership. This agreement marks Interasia’s first shipbuilding collaboration with YZJ, a significant milestone in the company’s fleet expansion strategy,
and is a strong reflection of Interasia’s ambition to strengthen its position in the Intra-Asia market and beyond.
The new vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028, enhancing Interasia’s capacity to compete with confidence and remain at the forefront of sustainable and efficient shipping.
